Portsmouth - Coventry Under 2.5 @ 1.83 (188bet)

FA Cup 3rd round fixture, troubled Portsmouth will welcome Coventry at Fratton Park looking to put their financial problems a side. Portsmouth has some big financial problems at the moment. Players' wages at the club are due to be paid late for a third month as fresh allegations of unpaid fees for signings resurface. This fact will definitely affect players' performance on the pitch, the players will probably not be as fired up as they would have been if the atmoshpere around the team would be better.

pompeyu.jpg

The other important fact is that Avram Grant will not have some of his best players at his disposal for the game against Coventry. Jamie O'Hara,
Kanu, Hassan Yebda, Nadir Belhadj and Aruna Dindane are all unavailable. Portsmouth has problems in Premier League as they are at the bottom of the table, 4 points away form safety. They couldn't care less about the FA Cup at the moment. Coventry is a defensive-minded team, especialy on their travels. They will be patient and will not rush things. This match has all the criterias to be a dull affair with few goals scored.

Getafe -0.5 (AH) @ 1.80 (188bet)

Getafe will welcome Real Valladolid at Coliseum Alfonso Pérez. Getafe currently occupy 8th position in La Liga table and probably has some realistic ambitions to fight for Europa League places. Thei opponents Real Valladolid occupy 12th place in La Liga table and probably more looking down rather than up, because this team doesn't have any high ambitions and their main objective is to maintain La Liga status and not get relegated. The situation at the bottom is tense, only 4 points seperate Real Valladolid from relegation zone, this means that battle for survival will be very intense and will involve quite a lot of teams. Nobody would really be very surprised if Real Valladolid would be involved in relegation battle because they are poor away from home, they lack quality players and have poor defence.

getafe.jpg

Getafe is a decent enough team, which has quality players, has potential and ambitions to fight for Europa League places this season. Getafe didn't start the season well, but step by step they improved and as a result they finished 2009 on a high ,getting some very good results including a famous win against Sevilla away from home. This win will boost players confidence and raise morale. Real Valladolid who were able to survive in La Liga last year are weakened comparing to last season. Arguably the best players for Real Valladolid last season - Pedro Leon left the team and joined Getafe , where he is playing really well and is always playing in the starting XI. Real Valladolid will have some notable missings in this match. First of all their leading goalscorer Diego Costa is unavailable. Other player who is unavailable is Manucho, who is gone to Africa to represent his national team. Real Valladolid is traditionally weak away from home. They were poor on their travels last season and nothing has really changed this term. From seven away games played this season Real Valladolif won only once. They can't always rely on their home form, because in this case they will put themselves under a lot of pressure. Since two attacking players are unavailable for Real Valladolid in this game, they might approach this game with much more defensive formation and since they have very poor defense and are weak away from home, it is unlikely that they will be able to hold Getafe pressure.

For me it's a hard game to call and i will not bet on this game. Osasuna tend to play well against the big teams at home. They always come out very motivated and agressive in such games so i wouldn't be surprised if they scored.

Fulham +0 (AH) @ 1.90 (188bet)

Fulham will face Stoke City at Britannia Stadium in what promises to be very tight affair. Stoke known for their physical defense minded tactics, played very at the Britannia Stadium last year. However now they are in some kind of a slump and haven't tasted a victory in last 6 matches! The main problem is goalscoring as Stoke City find goals hard to come. The attack was much better when Beattie and Fuller played as an attacking duo, but Stoke City manager Tony Pulis prefers Tuncay as a lone striker in this game.

Fulham are enjoying another very good season under very good manager - Roy Hodgson. They are a very balanced team with good, solid defenders and very strong attacking players. On their day Fulham can beat anyone especially when Bobby Zamora is scoring goals for fun. The morale of Fulham players is high and the atmosphere in the dressing room is much better than in Stoke. A lot of good Stoke City players are targeted by big clubs and can leave the club this January, these players are: Shawcross, Sorensen, Beattie. This will have negative influence on other players.

Bari -0.5 (AH) @ 2.20 (bet365)

One of the biggest surprises in Serie A this season - Bari will tackle struggling Udinese at Stadio Comunale San Nicola. Udinese currently occupies 14th spot in Serie A table with 18 points. After a good 2008/2009 campaign when Udinese finished 7th, this season has been rather dissapointing for Udinese fans. The team lacks depth and when one of the starting XI players is injured, Udinese doesn't have a suitable replacement. Udinese has a woeful record away from home this season, they have only 2 points from 24 points available (2 draws and 6 losses). This just goes to show that teams lacks spirit and that there is something wrong in the teams dressing room. To add to all woes, Udinese won't have their most influential and isnpirational player Di Natale available for this match against Bari. One more influential player - Asamoah will not be available as well as he is gone to represent his country in African Cup of Nations. There are also doubts
ver Simone Pepe, Maurizio Domizzi and <mashlogic class="mashlogic mashlink-goal-com-headlines mashlink" li-term="Gokhan Inler" mashbutton="goal@mashlogic.com">Gokhan Inler. One more important fact: with that kind of situation at the club it is natural that best players are linked with other clubs and will look for a move away from Udinese this month. This will have a negative effect.

Bari is one of the biggest surprises in Serie A this season. The team, last year promoted to Serie A, currently occupies 9th spot with only 3 points separating this team from Europa League places. Bari finished 2009 on a high beating Juventus. This win will give players confidence and boost their morale. Bari has been very solid at home, winning their last 4 home games. Udinese is very vulnerable at the moment and motivated, solid Bari can take advantage.

Villareal -1 (AH) @ 1.84 (188bet)

Villareal will tackle Almeria at El Madrigal hoping to continue their decent run of results after what have been a disastrous start to the season. Almeria is currently in the lower part of the table with 16 points and only 3 points above the drop zone. It looks like once again Almeria will have to fight for survival. After a 2-0 loss away to Espanyol, Almeria parted ways with head coach Hugo Sanchez. New coach Juan Manuel Lillo got to a winning start, with a 1-0 win over Xerez las weekend. Almeria was all but convincing in that game, they didn't play well against the worst side in the league, only snatching a very late equaliser to give them 3 points. Almeria is tradiotionally poor away from home, so far they have 1 win 1 draw and 6 losses. Since their main striking force of last season Alvaro Negredo gone to Sevilla, Almeria became a lot weaker comparing to last season and they will have to better if they are planning to maintain La Liga status.

villareali.jpg

After a disastrous start to the season Villareal a slowly starting to play like their fans expected them to play from the begininng of the season. Villareal had 3 win on the spin in La Liga before last weeks solid draw against Barcelona. Villareal did really well at Camp Nou and arguably deserved a victory in that game. Their passing game improved a lot comparing to the start of the season, they look a lot more comfortable on the ball and passing it very well. Draw against Celta Vigo away from home in Copa Del Rey probably was a result of players minds' already in very important home game against Almeria, so Villareal shouldn't be judged by the performance in that Copa Del Rey match. Villareal has too much for Almeria at this stage of the season, when they can't afford to slip up in games like these, so expect them to be fully focused coming into this game.
